YVONNE SEGABUTLE

Yvonne completed her Masters in Educational Psychology at the University of Johannesburg in 2010. She additionally earned her Masters degree in Public Health at MEDUNSA (2003), her Honours degree in Education (1988) and BA degree in Education (1986) and at the University of the North, as well as Psychology 300-NDP (1998) at MEDUNSA.

Yvonne is fluent in 7 languages: Setswana, English, Afrikaans, Sepedi, Sesotho, IsiZulu and IsiXhosa.

Work Experience

· Yvonne was appointed as Senior Education Specialist at the Gauteng Department of Education (Johannesburg North District; 2002-2008), Senior Education Specialist (Student & Intern Educational Psychologist) at the Gauteng Department of Education (Gauteng North District; 2008-2012), as well as Deputy Chief Senior Education Specialist at the Gauteng Department of Education (Johannesburg East District; 2012-2014). These appointments entailed taking on multiple tasks and roles as Assessment Supervisor (for placement in Special Education Schools), Psychotherapist, Learning Support Specialist (serving on both the DBST and DAT), Special Examination Concessions Coordinator, Inclusive Education Specialist, Curriculum Developer and Trainer, managing and guiding SBST team members, monitoring schools in policy compliance, coordinating District life skills and HIV/AIDS programmes, coordinating the District budget, as well as partaking in strategic planning teams regarding Inclusive Education in collaboration with the Departmental National and Provincial key thrusts.

· Yvonne was appointed as Marker for the Inclusion Module of Ace-Life orientation at the University of South Africa (2009). She also acted as Tutor for Ace-Life orientation (2007-2009), Marker in various courses in Ace-Life orientation (2008-2010), and Lecturer for B-Ed Life Orientation Students (2011-2012) at the University of Johannesburg.

· Yvonne also served as Guidance Counsellor (1990-2002) and Educator (1987-1990) at various High Schools in the Mabopane area.
